Densetsu Elemental Shitennou No Silver Millennium

Haven't seen much of the Sailormoon series? Never read the manga? Just wondering who in Serenity's name the Dark Kingdom Shitennou are? Lucky for you, I decided to post a page with information on our beloved bishounen. If you're looking for information on Obsidian, sorry, but I'm not going to reveal all the juicy details on her past just yet. Read the story to find out about her.

[Jadeite]
Jadeite

Jadeite was the first of Beryl's four Tennou and, thus, the first to fail. He started out gathering energy from the populace of Tokyo through jewelry, tarot cards, a disco ball, and other items, not knowing that he was doomed to fail before he began.

Sailormoon appeared, first solo with only Luna to help, then with Sailor Mercury and then Sailor Mars. To make matters worse, Tux would appear at the last minute, just when poor Jade-chan thought he had the sailor-suited brat and her friends cornered.

Of course, Jadeite was not getting a shred of help from his fellow Tennou in the Dark Kingdom and only had fragile, dimwitted youma for help. Beryl was not a patient queen and repeatedly threatened him with the punishment of Eternal Sleep.

Desperate, Jadeite made one final attempt to finish off the Sailor Senshi once and for all. He announced, to not only the Sailors but the city of Tokyo as well, that if they did not meet him at the Haneda Airport, he would turn Tokyo into an inferno. With the trap set and the three fledgling Sailo Senshi without any choice, all he could do was wait and hope that he would live to see them defeated.

However, it was not meant to be and Jadeite failed once again, thwarted by the teamwork of the three Sailors. Upon returning to the Dark Kingdom, even though he knew who the girls' identities really were, Beryl impatiently condemned him to Eternal Sleep, where he was encased inside a giant ice crystal for eternity.

[Nephrite]
Nephrite

Unimpressed by Jadeite's repeated failures, Beryl assigned Nephrite to take his place. Handsome and a brilliant businessman, he traveled to the Earth realm in the guise of the multi-millionaire, Masato Sanjouin(Maxfield Stanton). He owns a gothic mansion, a red Ferrari, and his own business.

At first, he holds the same mission as Jadeite, gathering energy from the populace of Tokyo by using his connection with the stars to first find a target, then infuses a symbol with the essense of a youma onto an object owned by them. He then retreats to his mansion, where he watches the person grow obssessed with their favorite hobby, growing mean and competitive. When the time is right, he unleashes the youma to take the target's energy.

After awhile, Queen Beryl learns of an item called the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou(Silver Crystal of Illusions) and while Zoisite is assigned to look for the mystical Moon stone, Nephrite makes it his business to go after his rival's job, looking for a way to regain favor with Beryl, who has been starting to get impatient with his failures, warning him that he, too, would be sealed away in Eternal Sleep with Jadeite if he continued to fail.

Nephrite switches tactics and takes advantage of Usagi's best friend(Osaka Naru) and her crush on his alter ego. He uses her first at Princess D's ball to get a crystal treasure that turned out to be only a large diamond and then to steal a crystal from her own mother's shop. Neither one turns out to be the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou.

Meanwhile, Zoisite has become quite enraged at his rival's attempts to steal his job and with his lover, Kunzite(Malachite), he plots to destroy Nephrite. He watches him carefully and notices that something is different about his rival. Realizing that he is starting to fall in love with Naru, Zoisite decides to use the girl against Nephrite, sending three of his youma to capture her from her very home, hoping that he will come to rescue her and thus, prove himself a traitor to the Dark Kingdom.

Despite knowing of Zoisite's probable trap, Nephrite goes after Naru anyhow, warning the three youma that he would not hand over the kurozuishou that he had created to find the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou. He takes Naru out of the building and down the street(most likely to her home) and she takes him into a park to hide from the youma, who find them only moments later.

Sadly, Nephrite is mortally wounded by a thorn from one of the three youma while defending Naru and dies moments later in her arms, drifting off into the heavens to be united with the stars he loved so dearly.

[Zoisite]
Zoisite

Zoisite, the third of Beryl's four Tennou, was given another job altogether after Nephrite's death, which seems to be of no consequense to him. He is given the task of finding the seven nijizuishou(rainbow crystals) and given Nephrite's modified kurozuishou by Beryl to find them with.

The first crystal is found in a young teenager named Game Joe. Zoisite retrieves the red crystal with ease from him since the Sailor Senshi don't quite realize what the Dark Kingdom is after this time until it's too late. However, Zoi's luck doesn't last for long. While retrieving the orange crystal from a priest, Tuxedo Kamen appears and steals it, hoping to discover who he is. The following yellow crystal appears in a psychic boy named Ryo Urawa, who warns the Sailors to his possible use to the Dark Kingdom. Thanks to him, the Sailor Senshi obtain the yellow crystal, at least for a little while.

Zoisite obtains the green crystal from a local artist, then loses the blue crystal to Tux momentarily during a battle with him. The sixth crystal, the indigo crystal, is taken by Zoi before Tux or Sailor Mars could stop him and the final violet crystal is taken by Tux from a fat, white alleycat. At this point, the Dark Kingdom has four of the seven crystals, Tux has two, and Sailormoon has one.

While Zoi is doing fairly well in spite of the circumstances, Beryl is not pleased, and wants him and Kunzite to retrieve the other three crystals so they can fuse them together to form the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou. Zoisite decides to try turning Naru into a youma and forcing Sailormoon to hand over her crystal. Through a very odd twist of events, the crystal falls from Sailormoon's hands and into Zoisite's, earning the Dark Kingdom five out of seven. Only the two in Tuxedo Kamen's hands remain.

Zoisite and Kunzite have no choice but to retrieve those as well and devise a clever trap to force Tux to hand over his crystals in exchange for the lives of the four Sailor Senshi. The trap would have worked, if not for the apperance of the fifth Sailor, Sailor Venus. The Sailors escape with their lives and Tux escapes with his crystals and a badly wounded shoulder. However, the ball is in the court of the Dark Kingdom, thanks to Beryl finding out who Tux really is. Zoisite uses this to his advantage and forces Chiba Mamoru to face him at the Starlight Tower the next morning in a supposedly "fair" fight.

Of course, nobody in the Dark Kingdom ever played fair when it came to the Sailor Senshi and Zoisite waits for Mamoru to drop his guard, then Kunzite takes all seven crystals to "hold" them while Zoi and Tux duel. Zoi never intends to let Mamo get away with the crystals and traps him and Usagi(who had accidentally been transported to the tower with him) in an elevator, intending on killing them and making it look like an accident. What Zoi didn't expect, however, was that Usagi was Sailormoon, making it quite the surprise when she pulls herself and Mamo out of the flaming elevator.

Sailormoon, in a surprise burst of bravery, wishes to duel in Mamo's place, but he refuses, saying that the duel was between him and Zoisite. He asks that Zoi not harm Sailormoon, but being the doublecrossing little weasel he is, Zoisite flings an ice crystal towards the unsuspecting teenager...until Tux jumps in the way. At this point, Usagi is grief-stricken and the Moon Princess is finally revealed to be none other than Sailormoon herself.

After a minor clashing, Kunzite arrives(presumably on Beryl's orders) and takes Zoisite and Tux(who has turned out to be Earth's former Prince, Endymion) back to the Dark Kingdom with him. Beryl is not pleased in the least with Zoisite's attempt to kill Endy and sends a lethal blast his way before his lover's eyes, warning Kunzite of what will happen should he fail as Zoisite did. While Beryl holds a small conference with Metallia in her lower antechambers, a grief-stricken Kunzite takes his lover to one of their rooms, where Zoisite fades away into a flurry of pink sakura petals in his lover's arms.

[Kunzite]
Kunzite

Kunzite, the last and most powerful of Beryl's Tennou, is now left alone to deal with the nuisance of the Sailor Senshi. He is given the task of watching the newly converted Prince Endymion, whom he shares the duty of retrieving the reformed Ginzuishou with. Kunzite is not fond of his liege's new warrior, who doesn't fail to take every opportunity to make snide remarks about Zoisite and the circumstances of his death.

Kunzite comes quite close to capturing the Ginzuishou several times, but only to be foiled not only by the Sailor Senshi, but the Prince as well. Kunzite realizes that Endy's memories have not been completely erased, however, Beryl refuses to hear any of it from him, warning him to not question her judgement and watch over the Prince. Kunzite does not like this in the least and at one time, slyly attempts to freeze the Prince to death in a skating rink for aiding the Sailor Senshi.

However, both he and Endy repeatedly fail and Kunzite makes one last mad dash for the Ginzuishou, sending the Sailor Senshi through the Dimension of Random Time, hoping to be rid of them once and for all. What he didn't expect was that the girls would be sent back to the Moon and remember everything that happened that fateful night one thousand years ago. Much to Kunzite's dismay, the Sailor Senshi return with renewed spirits, vowing to destroy the Dark Kingdom for the evils it has brought about.

While he may have been trembling deep inside, Kunzite remains ice-cold on the outside, unruffled by the warnings of the five girls. He summons one last attack, a pair of purplish-pink energy boomerangs, and hurls them towards Sailormoon, partially shredding her fuku. This only enrages the other Senshi, who pool their powers to help their Princess, while Kunzite continues to throw the energy boomerangs. Sailormoon emerges with new power and swears that even if Kunzite were to buy her a designer dress, she could never forgive him for shredding girls' clothing with his boomerangs.

Still unruffled, Kunzite swears that he will never be touched by the Ginzuishou's power as Usagi calls on her Moon Healing Escalation attack to purge Beryl's evil from his heart, and flings a single boomerang at her with all his might. Whether he knew it was suicide or not, we may never know, but the usually klutzy Usagi simply backhands the boomerang back towards Kunzite, where it embeds itself in his chest. Kunzite, the last of the warrior Shitennou, dies alone in that cold, dark cavern, calling out to Zoisite with his final words; "Zoisite! The place where your spirit resides...take me there!"
